The autopsy report shows the real cause of George Floyd death, an unarmed 46-year-old American man who died, in hands of a White police officer in Minneapolis.
During a news conference on Monday, two doctors hired by Floyd’s family to conduct an independent autopsy on his body declared his death a homicide.
They said the 46-year-old died from asphyxiation (lack of oxygen) after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes.
Also, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in its own reports said Floyd died as a result of “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression,” which attributes his death to heart disease.
The report disclosed that Floyd “experienced a cardiopulmonary arrest while being restrained by law enforcement officer(s).”
It also listed “arteriosclerotic, hypertensive heart disease and intoxication of fentanyl and recent methamphetamine use as “other significant conditions.”
